Job Description:
Purpose of Role:
Reporting to a senior manager in Financial Reporting in Ireland, this position offers an opportunity for the successful candidate to manage a team of people in the Financial Reporting department of a leading fund administrator.
Specific Duties:
Plan, co-ordinate and direct completion of audited annual and unaudited interim accounts with Financial Reporting in Ireland
Manage a team of reporting accountants to produce audit files and associated financial statements to the desired quality and within the timeframes agreed with Financial Reporting in Ireland.
Prepare financial statements involving company restructures.
Investigate and apply new accounting standards.
Assist in development of training programmers on new accounting standards
Review audited annual and unaudited interim accounts
Process all comments received from Financial Reporting in an accurate and timely manner.
Observe, inspect and evaluate performance of other staff in the department
Develop new ways of making the function more efficient through use of IT systems
Qualifications:
Numeracy / Literacy skills.
Good people management skills
Good communication and writing skills
Fluent English.
Accuracy and ability to work to tight deadlines.
Have a thorough understanding of basic accounting principles
Have an enquiring mind and a willingness to investigate and solve problems
Experience of working to deadlines and must be able to manage time effectively.
Be technically very strong in accounting standards and procedures
PC literate with very good knowledge of Microsoft Office, Word and Excel
Up to date on all technical issues relating to format, presentation and content of interim and annual reports
Experience in managing audit of company/trust accounts in a team environment
Have an enquiring mind and a willingness to investigate and solve problems
Be able to communicate effectively with colleagues at all levels
Ability to delegate work to others
Experience of working to deadlines, must be able to manage time effectively
