The objective of the SCADA Business Consultant is to support delivery of ABB SCADA/EMS/DMS systems and applications globally. Some of the primary objectives of this role include delivering configured systems using Network Control approved product implementation standards, as well as acquiring working knowledge of regional market needs and helping drive standardization in the delivery process. The SCADA Business Consultant is responsible for ensuring adequate documentation of required processes and practices.Tasks:
The role is accountable for the following activities:
Setup and configuration of computers and servers including: IP and network id configuration, firmware updates, disk setup and partitioning, OS installation and hardening;
Installation and configuration of Linux and Windows operating systems;
Basic installation and configuration of Oracle Database Software and other 3rd Party Software;
Setup of system administration and security environment including: active directory/group policy setup, user account creation;
Installation and configuration of ABB Network Manager multitier applications (SCADA/EMS/DMS);
Administration of system software inventory and project release management;
Develop, coordinate, and implement plans to test business and functional processes during system development and quality assurance testing;
Create or assist others in the writing of user documentation, instructions, and procedures;
Create clear, detailed documents of as-built deliverables including system diagrams, sizing and configuration tables and user policies;
International travel required (up to 25%).
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree (B. S.) from four-year college or university in computer science, information sciences or a related field;
Understanding and system administration capabilities of Linux and Windows operating systems;
A basic understanding of TCP/IP networking in a server-client environment;
A basic understanding of Microsoft technologies including Active Directory, DNS, and Group Policy;
A basic understanding of commercial RDBMS, especially Oracle and SQL Sever;
Ability to understand and write in at least one scripting language (Powershell, VBS, Linux Shell, Perl);
Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite of products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio);
Understanding of TCP/IP networking concepts in a server-client environment. Positive, proactive personality;
Strong interpersonal skills and communication skills;
Ability to manage multiple assignments and deliver results per plan;
Ability to work independently and within the framework of a team;
Ability to read, write and communicate verbally in English;
The ability to work with and troubleshoot hardware and networking issues will be a plus;
An understanding of cyber security best practices is a plus.
